Personal Confession of Sin & Acknowledgement of Christ, the Savior

Alas, my God, my sins are great, my conscience doth upbraid me.
And now now I find that in my strait no man hath pow'r to aid me.

And fled I hence in my despair in some lone spot to hide me.
My griefs would still be with me there and peace still be denied me.

Lord, Thee I seek. I merit naught; yet pity and restore me.
Just God, be not, Thy wrath my lot. Thy Son hath suffered for me.

Rock of Ages - 2nd & 3rd verses

Not the labors of my hands can fulfil Thy Law's demands;
could my zeal no respite know, could my tears forever flow;
all for sin could not atone; Thou must save, and Thou alone.

Nothing in my hand I bring, simply to Thy cross I cling;
naked, come to Thee for dress; helplees, look to Thee for grace;
foul, I to the fountain fly, wash me, Savior, or I die!

[TLH -1941 - CPH]

My Hope is Built on Nothing Less

My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean of Jesus' name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; all other ground is sinking sand.

His oath, His covenant, and blood support me in the whelming flood;
when every earthly prop gives way, He then is all my Hope and Stay.
On Christ the solid Rock, I stand; all other ground is sinking sand.

When He shall come with trumpet sound, oh, may I then in Him be found, clothed in His righteousness alone, faultless to stand before the throne.
On Christ the solid Rock, I stand; all other ground is sinking sand.

Jesus! and Shall It Ever Be

Jesus! and shall it ever be, a mortal man ashamed of Thee? Ashamed of Thee, whom angels praise, whose glories shine through endless days?

Ashamed of Jesus? Sooner far let evening blush to own a star.  He sheds
the beams of light divine o'er this benighted soul of mine.

Ashamed of Jesus? Just as soon let midnight be ashamed of noon. Tis
midnight with my soul till He, bright Morning Star, bids darkness flee.

Ashamed of Jesus, that dear Friend, on whom my hopes of heaven depend?  No; when I blush, be this my shame, that I no more revere His name.

Ashamed of Jesus? Yes, I may, when I've no guilt to wash away,
no tear to wipe, no good to crave, no fear to quell, no soul to save.

Till then--nor is my boasting vain--till then I boast a Savior slain;
And oh, may this my glory be, that Christ is not ashamed of me!

The musical tune of the above hymn

Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me

Jesus, Savior, pilot me over life's tempestuous sea;
unkown waves before me roll, hiding rock and treach-'rous shoal.
Chart and compass come from Thee:  Jesus, Savior, pilot me.

As a mother stills her child, Thou canst hush the ocean wild;
boist'rous waves obey Thy will when Thou say'st to them, "Be still!"
Wondrous Sov'reign of the sea, Jesus, Savior, pilot me.

When at last I near the shore and the fearful breakers roar;
'twixt me and the peaceful rest, then, while leaning on Thy breast,
may I hear Thee say to me, "Fear not, I will pilot thee."

The musical tune of the above hymn

God Loves Me Dearly

God loves me dearly, grants me salvation,
God loves me dearly, loves even me.

Therefore I'll say again: God loves me dearly,
God loves me dearly, loves even me.

I was in slav'ry, sin, death, and darkness;
God's love was working to make me free.

He sent forth Jesus, my dear Redeemer,
He sent forth Jesus and set me free.

Jesus, my Saviour, Himself did offer;
Jesus, my Saviour, paid all I owed.

Now I will praise You, O Love Eternal;
Now I will praise You, all my life long.
