Why Divine Revelation [The Scriptures] condemn homosexuality -- Why do homosexual activists become so upset when their lifestyle is called into question?

This emeritus Christian pastor is no stranger to online forums and to providing his comments, following news reports.  A couple of weeks ago there was a news report about an (obvious) homosexual activist.  The news piece went on to highlight this man’s up and coming conference speaking engagement.

The young man of whom the news piece related, was scheduled to speak [yesterday] about the recent Kalamazoo “anti-discrimination ordinance last year” and “his spiritual journey.”  He was highlighted to be “the keynote speaker” for “Out of the Closet, Into the Light.”  The gathering, according, was designed to be a “conference on ‘sexuality, inclusion and spirituality.’” The event was “planned” by “the OutCenter, of Benton Harbor, which provides support and advocacy for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and allied persons in Berrien County.”

The news report further stated that this conference on “sexuality, inclusion and spirituality” was to be held at Brookview School in Benton Harbor, Michigan.  Conference workshops were to include:

……topics such as “What Does the Bible Really Say About Homosexuality?” “Relationships With Religious Family and Friends,” “Moving Your Church to Be Welcoming” and “Exploring Your Spiritual Path.”

"Anti-discrimination advocate Jon Hoadley to speak about spiritual journey" -

I might glibly add that we can only hope that this school is wholly private and not publicly funded by the taxpayers – else this group and this speaker would have been guilty for violating the mythical  “separation church and state” [fallacious] principle as he would be talking about “spirituality” and referencing the Bible, in a public school setting.

Homosexual activists will pick and choose certain Scriptures, to justify their homosexual lifestyle:

It is common for homosexual activists to quote and abuse a most often misused Scripture – that being, Christ’s own words of  “Judge not and you shall not be judged.” [Gospel of Matthew 7:1f] What these activists often (conveniently for their own selfish purposes) forget, and / or, ignore, is that Scripture, in order to be correctly understood, must be read (and studied) in context, in its totality and with sound hermeneutical [interpretive] principles.

People often will capriciously exploit this Matthew 7:1f Scripture against those with whom they disagree, failing to understand that the ”judging aspect” is forbidden when the person doing the judging, is being hypocritical.  If I would be living a homosexual lifestyle and then criticizing homosexual lifestyles, then, this Scripture would then apply to me.  But, I am not hypocritically judging.

If I become upset with neighbors leaving their barking dogs outside for long and extended periods of time, while I do the same thing, then I would be guilty of judging my neighbors for [also] carelessly allowing my dog to disturb the same peacefulness of the neighborhood.  But many people, who fail to understand Scripture in its proper context, are capriciously careless in slinging it around – and thoroughly miss the proper perspective of the Matthew 7:1f, “Judge not.”

Briefly, what do the Hebrew / Christian Scriptures clearly say about homosexual acts and the homosexual lifestyle:

First of all, there is the Hebrew Scripture injunction against homosexual behavior.  Genesis 18:20  ;  Genesis 19:1-29  ;  Leviticus 18: 22-30  ;  Leviticus 20:13  ;  Isaiah 3:9-11

Secondly, there is the Christian Scripture injunction against homosexual behavior – principally in the following passages:  Romans 1:18-32 ; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 ; 1 Timothy 1:8-11 ; 2 Peter 2:6 ; Jude 1:7

The self professed divine revelation – [2 Timothy 3:14-17] makes it clear that homosexual activity is contrary to divine design.  Creator [Triune] God made the human body in such a manner that the human anus was meant, intended and designed for exit purposes only.

Please note: “Gay bowel syndrome:”  --

The Scripture makes it clear that to live a homosexual lifestyle is to deny the very Creator who designed and engineered the miracle of the human body, His special creation.  Even Muslims, who do not worship the true and Triune God, abhor the practice of homosexuality.  They also abhor the needless, wanton practice of abortion on demand.  Both practices are in direct disobedience to the Triune God’s “Cultural Mandate,” which states that the human race is to be “fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it……” [Genesis 1:28] Divine revelation, as written in the Christian New Testament of Romans 1:18-32, clearly implies that Creator God is egregiously offended when his human creation ignores His intents and becomes stubbornly resistent and ungrateful to His designs.  That, according to the divine revelation is the beginning of perversion and finally ends with those [people] engaged, being disillusioned in their very minds. Romans 1:24-28  ;  2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

The descending (deviation) digression is, as follows:

People fail to honor God, as He intended to be honored. They become unthankful to God. Hence, they become “vain” in their thinking -- and, without understanding.  As a direct consequence, their hearts become darkened to the truth of God. They then profess to be wise; but God says that they have become fools.  These unthankful, vain, (without understanding fools) then (instead) falsely worship themselves and graven images.  Romans 1:23-25

Why do homosexual activists become so upset when their lifestyle is called into question?

The Scripture speaks of a certain “delusion” which falls upon individuals as a result of their refusal to honor God as He intended to be honored. Romans 1:18-32 ; 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

Note: See also, the one topical message: “Why are many people hard of spiritual hearing? Why will many human souls end up experiencing eternal damnation? (3/28/10):”

It is fallen human nature to avoid, shun and eschew the truth.  Millions upon millions of people today flee from reality.  Facing the truth about one’s spiritual depravity and condition is not natural.  As the Scripture says, “.....the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they [the spiritual things of God] are spiritually discerned."  1 Corinthians 2:14

Unless the Lord breaks reality upon an unregenerate [unrepentant] person’s heart and soul, there can be no acceptance of Gospel truth.  Psalm 80:3  ; Psalm 80:7  ;  Psalm 80:19  ; Lamentations 5:21  ;  Acts 3:26  ;  Phil. 2:13  ; James 1:16-18  ; John 1:11-13  ; John 3:3-6

Please note:  Christian Faith -- How does a soul acquire it? -- What is the "New Birth," -- or, what is commonly called "Regeneration," or, the Christian "Conversion" process?

No one (naturally) likes to admit they are flagrantly wrong about their personal choices. And, when people are enjoying their sexual escapades – whatever they may be – those same people do not like to be told, that what they are doing and engaging in is, against God’s moral law. [Exodus 20:1f  ; Galatians 5:19-21  ; Heb.13:4  ;  Rev. 21:8  ;  Rev. 22:15] Human pride stands in the way of conforming to God’s commandments, believing in Christ, the Savior from one's sins and repenting of those sins.

What finally separates a homosexual – or any other sinner from Triune God, holy almighty?  What finally separates his soul from everlasting life in heaven to everlasting death, in hell?

The Christian Scriptures offer a list of lifestyle sins of which it states, will bar human souls from the “kingdom of God” (heaven). [Galatians 5:19-21] Such sins, habitually practiced by the sinner, “qualify” the soul, involved, for perdition (hell). Only by the grace and mercy of God [Ephesians 2:5-6] can a sinner be set free.  And, history illustrates in every age that sinners do, indeed, come to escape these lifestyle sins which mire and solidify the soul in unbelief and delusion.  1 Corinthians 6:9-11

In the final analysis, a person is damned to hell because of his [or, her] unbelief  John 3:14-21  ; Mark 16:15-16

Friend, if you are caught up in homosexual sin, you are “fallen far from the tree.”  The very fact that you are engaging your God-created body in such a manner, illustrates that you are leading a lifestyle that will damn your very soul. [Galatians 5:19-21] ;  1 Corinthians 6:9-11] The Scriptures make that clear, no matter how you may like to twist them to your eternal destruction. [Hell]

Whatever sin or sins claim your present life, know that you are separated from a holy God and his heaven if you have, but sinned once – whatever transgression against His Commandments. [James 2:10] And, we know from the divine revelation that there is not a “just man upon earth who does good, and sins, not.” [Eccl. 7:20  ;  Isaiah 51:6]  The Triune God cannot allow unforgiven sin in his presence.  Consequently, you must enter a hereafter heaven, totally on the merits of the grace of God, through faith, on account of the birth, life, suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. [Ephesians 2:8-9  ; John 3:14-21   ; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4] He, alone, is the perfect sacrifice for all your sins against God and your fellow man.  Only because of Him, will God acquit you of all your sins – whatever and how many, they may be.  Hebrews 10:14  ; John 8:31-36
